  2. pakito fails says:

    @pakito: It’s 2003….you fail

  3. Anonymous says:

It’s sad, knowing that this man is actually dead.

    You fail sir.

  4. kjartan says:

    That’s not funny, that’s f$%^d up . . .

  5. RIP poor man says:

Motorsport accidents aren’t funny, if someone was seriously injured or killed!

  6. tink says:

I think the whole thing is funny. Sense of humor Fail.

    • injured people are HILARIOUS says:

ya. they took their lives into their own hands when they got behind the wheel. with that in mind, its pretty funny

  7. Angel says:

Did anyone actually die? I’m pretty sure the guy is flying through the air because he was either sitting on or standing next to the thing that the car crashed into, and the shock wave launched him. The landing must’ve sucked, though.

    • Dr. Physics says:

Major physics fail! Cars crashing into things don’t produce a large enough “shock wave” to launch a grown man into the air.

  8. Shawn says:

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) – A 19-year-old photographer died after he was struck by a stock car in a race on Sunday at the International Autodrome in Campo Grande, 1,200 kilometres west of Rio de Janeiro.

Raphael Lima Pereira, a journalism student, was photographing the Brazilian Stock Cars V8 race when a car careened out of control and he was thrown from a bank of tires, where he was taking pictures, police said Monday.

He was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries, and died.

The car, driven by Gualter Salles, hit the track’s first curve following a crash involving several cars shortly after the race started. Salles was unhurt, and chose not to continue the race, which was restarted.

Race organizers said Pereira was in an area were photographers were not permitted.

Pereira was the third death in the 25-year history of Brazilian stock car racing, and the first victim who was not a driver, according to O Globo newspaper.

  9. Shawn says:

    Yes, he’s dead…

This pic really is in bad taste, note the lack of right hand…

  10. Kioshi says:

….Wouldn’t there be blood if his hand was missing? o.O

  11. bootothat says:

Oh, and also, even if wayyy slow of a response, Shawn’s posting says “Race organizers said Pereira was in an area were photographers were not permitted.” Sorry, but when you go where you aren’t supposed to go, be wary of the consequences. Besides, this is more of a “holy sh*t” (yet still oddly amusing) picture than a lol picture…at least in my opinion.

  12. Toa McKai says:

The person flying looks like some kind of dummy (not an idiot kind for the other idiots out there) but I could be wrong.

  13. None says:

The guys is dead folks. It doesn’t matter if his hands were cut off or not (in fact they weren’t).

The person flying looks like some kind of dummy? Let a car going at 150miles/hour hit you. I bet you’re going to look awesome.

  14. Andy says:

It’s fail to be able to fly!? I think that’s epic win for the dead guy!!

  15. Wanda says:

The brain can only take so many blows to the head….I won’t get into all that. NOT funny…sigh…people joke, there are times we should not, but know this, we lose people we love so others can get amused by it????…my 22 yr old son died in a car accident, he was thrown from the vehicle, a long ways…regardless of the type of accident…the outcome is not good in a situation like this…it is real, I can tell….I do not condone this, its not right for people like me to have to see this, even if its NOT MY SON…it makes me … relive it…its not right, don’t make fun of things like this. This is a Mothers CHILD!

  16. DubbaCTrumpetMSU says:

Then you might not want to be on a site like failblog, which posts pictures of accidents occasionally. I’m sorry, but if you’re where you are NOT permitted..FOR A REASON…with cars traveling at twice the highway speed…it’s your fault. Sure, I feel sorry for him and his family..but only to a point. Once you pass the line of where you shouldn’t be, your life is in your own hands.

  17. LolOtter says:

    WE HAVE LIFTOFF

  18. mutherfarker says:

haha man the guy on the right is still posing for the photo

  19. Big Mac says:

Driver- I believe i can fly!

  20. chase says:

typical black guy, he can jump higher than the car and do it in style. =D

  21. RAWRanyCHEEZburger says:

    It made my day XD

  22. blew him out of this pants…

  23. d0b says:

    The Photographer is dead.

  24. Ryan Waxx says:

Why does a picture magically transform from funny to not based on what the (non-obvious) result was?

What if some commenter early in the thread had posted a fake news article saying that the guy had been forced to dive out of the way, but was otherwise uninjured? Would you have even checked?

And then later on someone posts the real news story. Now the picture has gone from unfunny (when people weren’t sure) to funny (when people were deceived) and back to unfunny for those who believed the real report!

Isn’t it absurd from a logical point of view that a picture does not change but it magically bounces back from not funny to funny and back, based on facts you’ll never check and the fate of a person you’ll never meet?

  25. TMSugarCCheese says:

    Flying man!
