the ball could be at that location at the end of the swing if he fouled the ball into the plate and it bounced at him… long shot yes because if it hits a player its usually in the shin or knee but its possible
Not fake. What likely happened is that he fouled the ball off the plate and it came back up and hit him in the groin. This sort of thing happens all the time.
