There are a couple of things wrong with this statement. I will attempt to put them factually without adding in all of the personal insults to you and your spawn which have invaded my mind. *Ahem*:
1: There is actually no such thing as a free country. In any society there are rules, be they folkways, mores, or laws, which you are expected to follow, and failure to do so is rarely tolerated. If you interact with people in any fashion, you are not truly free to do as you please.
2: You are correct in saying that Bush is not your leader. Bush is not, in fact, anyone’s leader. What he is is exactly what all presidents are: Figureheads. America is a representative republic where the people chose others to make the rules. As with any form of government, it has it’s strengths and it’s downfalls, but one of its strengths is that anything that goes wrong can not be blamed on the system, for the people put whoever is in charge in that position. The people in general are the only true leaders in America, and whatever you chose to try to blame your fortune or misfortune on, in the end, your decisions and those of the people around you are all that shape your society.
3: @ Mel & Annonymous: Bush is not a shining figure of respectability (He could be closer than he is if the media would back off of him a bit, but even then we’d have his own press releases and official speeches to watch him stumble through), but he is not “A retarded Chimpanzee” either. What he is is a C student who made his way through college at an average level, using his fathers money to continue when others would have been turned away. This does not make him a bad person, or a good one. The fact is that Al Gore, while he has shown some respectability recently, was not a strong enough candidate in 2000 to beat Bush’s personal magnetism, which consisted of an air about him leading people to believe he was a nice, personable gentleman. He is expected to perform a job very few of us are capable of, and though he may or may not be qualified for it, it is his to perform, and he has been doing the best of his limited ability.
I personally believe he did a better job than Gore would have done in that same time, but that is a matter of opinion.

Here’s the scenario: you’re fresh out of high school and going into college, but your GPA isn’t as good as it needs to be for you to chase your current ambisions. Your options: don’t go to college and get a day job like most of America, and probably be the “failure” of your rich political family, or you can use your rich political family to support yourself, then follow in the only footsteps you HAVE and go into politics like your father… and your brother.
Which do you pick? McJob for the rest of your life, or strive to actually make something out of yourself, even if you’re not going to be the best?

Bottom Line: Bush is not an idiot, he’s a genius. He knows exactly what he’s doing and that is LOOKING like an idiot. One of the best things you can do in the art of war (and anyone arguing that Bush is not a war monger need to wake up and read the paper) is to appear incompetent. I think Bush has done a great job of that; it doesn’t matter if he has the support of America, between his family and friends he might as well own the world.
Then I suppose we should consider ourselves lucky we only got off with a quagmire of a war no other countries will support us on, the lowest presidential approval ratings and satisfaction of being American of any administration, and a tanking economy. The only way Obama could be WORSE than Bush is if he set off nuclear (not nukular) missiles.
Bush is beyond fail and you’ve been hiding in a closet if you don’t think that he has completely screwed this country in every way possible.
Except for the fact that Congress has a much lower rating than Bush. Why don’t you put the blame where it lies, in the Democratically run House and Senate.

Um….At least during one of the votes, Bush supporters, if not the leader himself, helped to turn the tide in his favor. They sent out false ads saying the date of the elections had changed, turned away black voters on little ground, and many other unscrupulous things. Bush never deserved to lead the country. I wish that Obama would hurry up and be in office already.

To be a fail the picture is supposed to show the subject failing at something – a failure that the picture makes obvious. There are great pictures of Bush FAILS out there. This isn’t one of them. Nothing funny is happening in this picture. The fact that you don’t like Bush does not make every picture of him failblog-worthy.

FDR still holds the record for most laws found unconstitutionall. His Nationall Recovery Act provided for the strict regulation of practially every business in America, right down to the number of dancers that could be on stage at strip clubs. Other programs included slaughtering pigs and pouring milk down stormdrains to keep farm prices high.
Truman responded to a major steelworker strike by trying to nationalize the industry.
JFK’s ill conceived Bay of Pigs Invasion, and a yearlong series off attemps to assassinate Fidel Castro not only drove the CIA into the ground, but also helped cause the CUban missile crisis. His executive order unionizing the federal work force led to the present day government pension crisis, and there are still unanswered questions about his ties to the mafia.
LBJ not only escalated the war in Vietnam, he micro-managed it to the point of bragging that “They (the Air Force) can’t bomb an out-house without my say so.” His “Great Society” and “War on Poverty” did not eliminate or even reduce poverty. It did insure a reliable source of Democratic votes by creating a permanate wellfare class.

Reagan paid so little attention to the activities of his staff that the Iran-Contra affair was carried out complety without his knowledge.
Bush senior went back on his pledge of no new taxes.
Clinton also failed to follow up on pledged tax cuts. He tried to cover up his affair with Monica Lewinski, commiting over 130 counts of perjury in the process. He also had the IRS audit the National Review after it published a series of investigative reports on his real estate dealings.
Between the 2000 election and when he left office, he passed several laws that congress had never voted on, including a repetative stress injury law that would have made imployers liable for all injuries suffered by their employees, whether work related or not. Finally, while moving out of the White House, the Clintons took several pieces of furniture that didn’t actually belong to them.
