Regardless, I am so, so, so thankful none of those containers were any of mine *Grins*.

Though I did have customs leave a container open over a rainy weekend as they ‘inspected’ it. A fail unto itself.

This is a fake photo.
First of all, the (green) container at the far right side is floating in the air. There is nothing below to carry the weight.
Second, if all of the containers weighed at least 5 tons a piece, and up to 60 tons, it would be impossible for anything to tip them over
Third, why is the ship moving? That would be a very bad move if this had really happened.
(And last, who took this picture? The crew from the container ship, who thought it would be funny to get in a rescue boat, and sail behind the ship while taking a picture? Some stranger accidentally passing by? Superman?)

Scott A, 50ft is impossible since these containers come in either 20′ or 40′. For the 40′ load capacity is 60 tons. Trust me, the harbour had one hell of a time to get those containers ashore. Imagine your new Ford Mustang ‘08 being in one of those.. Very sad fail, this one.

Looks like that ship either went through a bad storm or was loaded improperly.

In any case, I’d be surprised if it wasn’t about to capsize. Those containers can weigh upwards of 50 tons, depending on what’s in them.

Like, for instance, stacked hardwood. Those things are usually around 15 feet tall by 50 feet long, if I remember right. That’s a LOT of weight.

Poor failboat.
