First up, sorry for answering to such and old thread, but I think I’m the only one who seems to have made a number of observations vital to proving that this image has been edited. Primarily, the shades the left side of the bridge casts on itself is different from the right, the right being longer and darker. Also, the two bridge piers visible in the picture are disturbingly close to each other. That could mean two things; either the bridge is too small or this image has been edited. In the first case, you’d think that while building a quarter-of a-mile long bridge you’d see that the two sides won’t meet long before you get them that close. Plus, it would be unbelievably stupid if the engineers decided to connect the two sides, as displayed in the picture. That rules out option 1, and we’re left with only one: It was edited.

PS. You can also tell it’s a bit fishy by noticing abnormal cuts to the waves (upper-right corner).

Out of a team of engineers and construction guys working on the bridge, I’m sure someone would’ve noticed the error long before that whole segment was built.

This would be a VERY unlikely occurrence; Think about how many engineers and other people would have worked on planning something as crucial as a bridge meeting in the center….

Even if one person messed up, all the rest would be able to deduct what the error was.

People forget that bridges are first built on paper. And that numbers don’t lie.

Seriously? The word “sartorial” may be a bit esoteric, but I don’t see any other words that “sound like [he] used a thesaurus”. “Language”? “Correctly”? “Appearance”?

I completely agree, bad spelling is a sign of somebody who either doesn’t care enough or doesn’t know enough to correct it. I would never hire anybody with a spelling error in his or her resumé, for example.

Not really. You can make the program automatically find the edges for you. If the original picture is of a higher resolution than the one you post, any mistakes will disappear in the compression anyway.

The relevant thing here is of course that they would notice that the two sections were off long before getting this close, and definitely before actually connecting the two halves… which somehow happened to line up perfectly for one beam to go across.

It’s a good photoshop, but it’s hardly a fail.
