If that’s photoshopped then I’m impressed! It would take hours to get a cut that close so as to avoid all the water…
Well, it passed my scrutiny anyway.
Not really. You can make the program automatically find the edges for you. If the original picture is of a higher resolution than the one you post, any mistakes will disappear in the compression anyway.
The relevant thing here is of course that they would notice that the two sections were off long before getting this close, and definitely before actually connecting the two halves… which somehow happened to line up perfectly for one beam to go across.
This would be a VERY unlikely occurrence; Think about how many engineers and other people would have worked on planning something as crucial as a bridge meeting in the center….
Even if one person messed up, all the rest would be able to deduct what the error was.
People forget that bridges are first built on paper. And that numbers don’t lie.
However, if there were two separate contractors involved the workers my have simply used the measurements given even though they knew it was off. They just wanted to rub it the the upper’s faces!
Why do people have to be so anal about spelling. I mean… sooo-rrryy if somepeople actually have a life and dont go through what they just wrote and spell check it, then double spell check it, then get their mum in to proof read it, then finally, they post the damn comment. Get a life you anal “epic spell fail”.
Thats the thing… you shouldn’t have to have a computer spell check what you write, you should just know how to spell things! I guess it really doesn’t matter, but it still bothers me a little.
If you put a T shirt on backwards do you say, “Meh, close enough.”
Or do you take it off and put it on correctly?
The English language is more important than your sartorial appearance.
Seriously? The word “sartorial” may be a bit esoteric, but I don’t see any other words that “sound like [he] used a thesaurus”. “Language”? “Correctly”? “Appearance”?
I really want to correct your first sentence and make myself feel smart, but I keep coming back to the fact that this is FailBlog and it probably doesn’t matter. So, I got over it. Congrats! You win!
Yes…I did just take the time to post this comment. I fail.
Well, sir, I don’t care about spelling either, but fail on your part. If you had a life you wouldnt be on failblog making comments in the first place. Social life fair.
It is the camera angle. The bridge the ppl are on is slightly lower than the other side. Really only a foot or two. As soon as the beams are riveted together, the tephlon on top of the columns will expand allowing the lower side to be lifted slightly, and shrink on the higher side so the two sides connect. But in order for the beam to look like it extends from one side to another, that part is photoshoped.
even if we ignore the fact that it’s obviously fake:
-the piers are very close together, which is unlikely
-ordinarily, all the girders would be the same length, which they are not
-by the time the deck is poured or placed, all steel is fully bolted
-by “tephlon” I assume you mean “teflon”, and by “teflon”, I assume you mean “neoprene”, which some bearings may be made of. it will not allow that much movement, especially not vertically
wow, one intelligent person in the list of comments! Totally fake photo. They would have realized WAY before they got that much “done” (deck poured, steel beams placed) that there was problem. Photoshop – success, common sense of people to left most of the comments – FAIL!!
Sparky, Attention Whore/One-Liner Feeder/Lemming/One Who Is Wondering If It Is Not Incorrect To Believe That I Am Allowed To Possess A Beef Patty With Some Curd On It says:
hate to ruin everyone’s fun but I believe this bridge is in Virginia. I have seen this picture in a museum in Norfolk. So Actually this is a real fail.
Fake. No matter what else, the darkness of the shadows cast by the deck upon the girders is different between halves of the photographs. This could be “real” if for some reason the image were washed out on one side, and the balance (or brightness/contrast/whatever) adjusted selectively. Unlikely.
It could also be real if there were two different suns shining that afternoon. This explanation is also supported by the different ANGLES of the shadows (of different darkness).
OSHA fail…none of those people are wearing traffic vests, life jackets, or a harness, and they’re definitely within 6′ of the unprotected edge…except that one guy by the truck, but he still doesn’t have a traffic vest.
Oh yea, and the picture’s totally a fake. Anyone who thinks they would even set the forms for two piers that out of line (or that close together) is nuts, much less actually build the piers and set the steel in place…and then see the steel misaligned and still build the forms for the deck and pour it.
Uh, hate to ruin all you peoples’ fun, but quite frankly, who CARES about any of the stuff you were arguing about?
To the spelling argument: Maybe people KNOW how to spell stuff, but they accidentally type stuff wrong and actually have lives so therefore don’t go back and check it over. It’s called a typo. Besides, that’s the beauty of the internet! And anyway, it’s a stupid argument and who cares if stuf iz speld rite or nawt?
To the ongoing is-it-real argument: Does it matter if it’s real or not? The bottom line is, it’s funny and that’s all there is to it.
Glad I could help clear up your childish stupidity

Well what truly amazes me is the length of time that has elapsed from the first coment about this mystery bridge till now….it is like a good art work…at least it gets people commenting.
Oh God… o_O
It’s fantastic.
nice ;s
WTF HOW DID THAT CAR GET OVER :/
Are you Joking? Your comment in itself is a fail.
A bridge has 2 side lol
dude. that just made this picture 1000 time more hilarious!
is this in florida?
Photoshop.
Your life is photoshopped. You know not every thing in life is photoshopped.
Well if your comment was right then everything in his life would be photoshopped. Fail on your part?
well his life isn’t everything is it? you, anon, (and effbomb) fail miserably.
how bout fighting over a comedy website about photoshop?
If that’s photoshopped then I’m impressed! It would take hours to get a cut that close so as to avoid all the water…
Well, it passed my scrutiny anyway.

The relevant thing here is of course that they would notice that the two sections were off long before getting this close, and definitely before actually connecting the two halves… which somehow happened to line up perfectly for one beam to go across.
It’s a good photoshop, but it’s hardly a fail.
You’re brilliant. And you win.
“Photoshop”
Hence “thanks to fark”. You fail.
“fark” might be the one who took the photo. you fail.
Hehe..it may be photoshopped…but seriously if that REALLY happend…that would SUCK
IT’s probably something that you would see happening long before you put the final bit in
However, if there were two separate contractors involved the workers my have simply used the measurements given even though they knew it was off. They just wanted to rub it the the upper’s faces!
lol photoshoped but stil their probly like WTF!!!!!
Epic spelling fail. Thanks, for trying, though.
Epic, puntuation, fail.
Epic punctuation fail twice in the same thread!
Haha, honestly I think it was sarcasm.
Duh.
Epic sarcasm comprehension fail.
Omg, so right….what winners. Get over it!!!!!
Same icon = same computer
Same computer = high probability of the same person posting the comment.
One minute apart, too!
Criticism Fail
Criticism Win actually, if he’s jackass enough to encourage his own comment >.<
idiocy fail. He could have been on a different computer with the same icon… that is possible ya know?
It’s people who don’t care about spelling and preserving our language
that make the English language suck and deteriorate.
This is the internet what do you expect?I gons haave many spelwing
mestikes as i wants
There are even places where English completely disappears. In America they haven’t used it for years.
Oh, so well stated! Bravo! I couln’t agree more!
(And this is coming from someone who thinks that appearance is quite important.)
no its not.
you sound like you used a thesaurus to write your sentences.
Seriously? The word “sartorial” may be a bit esoteric, but I don’t see any other words that “sound like [he] used a thesaurus”. “Language”? “Correctly”? “Appearance”?
I completely agree, bad spelling is a sign of somebody who either doesn’t care enough or doesn’t know enough to correct it. I would never hire anybody with a spelling error in his or her resumé, for example.
Is that chinese for fail?
Look people this actually happened, I was there. It was built like that to confuse soccer moms. I know some crazy stuff, I was like wtf!
Sometimes, people actually spell / punctuate right the first time around. I know, weird.
I just kind of learned to spell as a child, and then use those skills when I type. That’s my method.
Well, usually the average human being doesn’t need to spell-check after they have written something if they SPELLED IT RIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE.
“Thanks, for trying, though.” Win.
Nope not photoshopped… its the camera angle smart people
sucker
you believe this picture
dumb person
logic fail.
I agree.
Funny, if its real, thats a very expensive “oh crap” kind of moment, some ones getting fired
Obvious fake, hence fail.

civil engineering FTW
Exactly right…..and I do “work on bridges”.
haha ur hilarious!
i almost had as much fun laughing at civil engineer dude skewering stupid previous comments as laughing at (rather obviously fake) photo!
Yeah, but it’s still funny.
Engineers, wewt!
whhooooo caaaaaares dood?! its a website.
doubt you know what your talking about. do YOU kno what was going on with that bridge?
did you work on bridges before
wow, one intelligent person in the list of comments! Totally fake photo. They would have realized WAY before they got that much “done” (deck poured, steel beams placed) that there was problem. Photoshop – success, common sense of people to left most of the comments – FAIL!!
your comments all fail except for that one guy.
the one? who made the comment? sometime in the past?
obviously he’s talking about that one guy… he made a comment on the page with all the comments, how did you not understand?
You dont mean the guy with the one comment do you? No Logic FTW
I can clear this up: It was the guy who made the comment about this fail…the one that used words in his comment. On Failblog on this page. Got it now?
hate to ruin everyone’s fun but I believe this bridge is in Virginia. I have seen this picture in a museum in Norfolk. So Actually this is a real fail.
Any links?
Shhhhhh. Everyone is having fun biting each other’s heads off. Much more entertaining!
lol, it is fun

Not tephlon.
Failshop.
I was waiting for someone to mention the shadows.
I soo want this as a screensaver at work : )
legos ftw
Omg, ANGLE FAIL!!!
Angle?
See also the gratuitous use of the clone stamp in the background.
photoshop.
however the bridge across the murray river at yarrawonga does this. is a bridge across the state line – and each half was built by each state.
THIS IS AN ADD IN AN INTERIOR DESIGN MAGAZINE…
caps-lock off fail
This happens to me all the time in “Roller Coaster Tycoon.” They just need one of those swervy pieces to complete it.
hahahaha
Comment WIN!
TOTALLY true FTW!!!
Most obviously fake.
But Fail Bridge for the WIN!
hey it’s the bridge to nowhere!
Even if it’s the camera angle, it’s still a fail as the right side of the bridge is higher than the left side of the bridge.
It’s a model. If you look at the right hand side of the picture you can see the tip of the finger holding it in place.
OSHA fail…none of those people are wearing traffic vests, life jackets, or a harness, and they’re definitely within 6′ of the unprotected edge…except that one guy by the truck, but he still doesn’t have a traffic vest.

Sheesh.
Bridge was in Florida
more like thx to photoshop
close call…
umm… that looks like it’s from robot chicken lol
I don’t care what anyone says this is real…………..people are that dumb
oh shit we really went wrong somewhere…
If this is real, alot of people are getting fired.
im pretty sure this happened in florida. build a bridge didnt line up. had to start over.
seriously. im gonna google it
You found it yet?
You are now crossing the Fail Bridge.
two pillar with that distance? Smart angle and then compressed
fake.
What kinda bridge is this anyway? two lanes without any kind of seperation in between?
This is the best comments thread I’ve ever seen.
It’s called a typo. comment fail.
tax dollar !!!!!!!!!!!
a bridge too far…
- epic face palm -
Something that’s funny, beside the picture, is that people use comments to argue. Someone here doesn’t even comment the picture:P
If the picture is real it’s f***ing hilarious!
photoshop
Well what truly amazes me is the length of time that has elapsed from the first coment about this mystery bridge till now….it is like a good art work…at least it gets people commenting.
oops…and speaking of spelling….haha…I meant ‘comment’…..
comment thread FTW!
+1 on failshop, duh.
When I grow up I want to be an engineer just like those guys and build bridges just like that one.
There was a bridge in belmar, nj that this happened to. is probably that bridge
That’s an optical illusion. It’s in the angle you think it’s sticking, but it’s not ;p
Did he die?
bad design
